Security and privacy built in from the start
Standard scrubbing runs on your device, not on our server. Encrypted Pro PDFs are the one file-processing exception: they can be decrypted transiently on the server before the browser finishes the scrub.
How files are handled
The safest place to remove metadata is where the files already live. scrub.mediakeeps standard processing local and does not store your media.
On-device processing
- Files are processed in your browser session
- No uploads or background syncing in the standard flow
- No cloud storage or retention
- Encrypted Pro PDF decryption is disclosed before use
Clean output by design
- Metadata removed without changing pixels
- Download cleaned files immediately
- Close the tab to clear the session
Control what stays and what goes
Strip everything or selectively edit fields. Pro users can keep copyright data while removing GPS, timestamps, and device identifiers.
Selective editing
Remove location fields while preserving the metadata you choose. The selection is shown before processing.
Batch consistency
Scrub up to 10 files at once on Free or 20 at once on Pro. The app processes the batch sequentially in your browser.

We would rather be explicit than imply a compliance or automation surface that does not exist yet.
